The proclamation reads:

“A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation leads the fight against lung cancer in the State of Minnesota by raising awareness about the disease, supporting patients, and partnering with the oncology community to change outcomes, and

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation has donated in excess of $800,000 toward innovative lung cancer research in the past six years to improve survivorship rates for lung cancer patients, and

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation has created new events and new program initiatives to educate the public about lung cancer, which kills more people each year than breast, colon and pancreatic cancers combined, and

More than 3,000 Minnesotans will succumb to lung cancer in 2015, and

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation is confident that an increased awareness about the risks and symptoms, and preventative screenings will save lives, and

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation will rally its supporters and celebrate the 9th Annual Twin Cities Lung Run/Walk on August, 15, 2015, at Lake Harriet.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARK DAYTON, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim Saturday, August 15, 2015, as A Breath of Hope Lung Cancer Awareness Day.”
