You’re invited to participate in a 5K walk or a 5K chip-timed run at 10 a.m. at Burnham Park (39th and Lake Shore Drive) in support of the fight to beat lung cancer. A bus tour will be provided for registrants who are unable to walk or run.
You won’t want to miss out on this fun-filled morning as we raise awareness about lung cancer and raise money for drastically underfunded lung cancer research. Proceeds benefit lung cancer research in Illinois and beyond!
This event will feature live music, snacks, kids’ activities, prizes for top fundraisers and race finishers, oncology updates and resources for lung cancer patients and families. The village opens at 8 a.m.
Free t-shirts guaranteed for those who register before Wednesday, May 11th! To honor or remember your loved one and have their first and last name printed on the back of the t-shirt, register before Wednesday, May 11th.
This certified 5k course has been USATF certified for distance accuracy. The A Breath of Hope Chicago Lung Run/Walk begins in the event village (map) located at 1198 E. Oakwood Blvd. and offers beautiful views of Lake Michigan as participants head south on Lakefront Trail. Just shy of 2.4 kilometers, participants will turn around and head north on Lakefront Trail. Water stops are located at mile markers 1, 2 and 3.1.
We’re excited to announce that NBC News Anchor Alex Maragos will emcee the Chicago Lung Run/Walk! Thank you, Alex and NBC Chicago for your support!
