They recognized the need for lung cancer awareness and patient support. We are honored to expand to the SW Florida area and bring this annual event to Lee County and SW Florida! \nA Breath of Hope Lung Foundation was established in 2008. A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation’s mission is to raise lung cancer awareness\, provide patient and family support and fund innovative lung cancer research. While lung cancer takes more lives than breast\, colon and prostate cancers combined\, it remains underfunded and out of sight. Sadly\, we have stigmatized a disease that affects 1 in 14 Americans – smokers\, nonsmokers\, men\, women\, young and old. A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation believes every life is worth fighting for.

SUMMARY:ABOH Benefit - Hosted by Julie Swedberg
DESCRIPTION:Join Julie Swedberg as she celebrates six years of living with lung cancer!\nJoin us on Friday\, August 19th to celebrate Julie’s six years of living with lung cancer! When she was first diagnosed\, she was told she most likely had 12-18 months to live. Six years later\, because of research\, she is still here! This fundraiser is about raising research dollars to continue to provide life-saving options for herself and others. \nDid you know that the Lung Cancer Research Program through the Department of Defense was unable to fund over 70% of the research proposals in 2021 that were rated “excellent” by scientific reviewers? Lung cancer remains underfunded per cancer death compared to other cancers\, yet it is the number one cause of cancer death. Purchasing your ticket and joining us at the event\, along with any donations we receive\, will support the A Breath of Hope U.S. Research Award Program and it WILL have an impact on future outcomes for lung cancer patients\, their caregivers\, and loved ones! \nBuy tickets here! \nSchmidt Rathskeller | 882 7th St. W\, St. Paul\n$75/ticket\nThe event includes heavy appetizers\, a silent auction\, wine wall\, 50/50 raffle\, door prizes\, musical entertainment\, dancing\, and a cash bar.

You won’t want to miss this sunny 5k run/walk as we raise lung cancer awareness and funds for drastically underfunded lung cancer research. Proceeds support programs for lung cancer patients in SW Florida\, as well as the U.S. transnational research awards funded by A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation. \nJoin us at Estero Community Park in Estero\, Florida on Saturday\, February 26\, 2022 from 8-11 a.m. Enjoy the 5K run or walk with collectible t-shirts\, prizes\, snacks\, patient resources\, updates from a leading oncologist\, a special ceremony to honor and remember your loved ones\, and fellowship with a community that understands. \nEVENT SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION\nEmail info@abreathofhope.org with any questions.\nNEW IN 2022 \nA Breath of Hope is bringing its Patient Support Services program to SW Florida in early 2022. Stay tuned to learn more about this important support program for people living with lung cancer. \nThank you to our 2022 Silver Sponsors:\n\n       Tim & Susan Hatfield\n\n  \nThank you to our 2022 Bronze Sponsors:\n          Mary Jane Benjamin & Dave Arnold \n  \nThe $500 Club:\n\nDot Woods        Janet & Steve Thompson        Jim Christensen        Richard & Mary Brothers       Matt & Rachel Berhow      Elizabeth Kerschner\n\n  \n\nEvent History\nIn 2007\, the A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk was held for the first time in Minneapolis by a group of lung cancer patients\, their family members and their nurse. They recognized the need for lung cancer awareness and patient support. We are honored to expand to the SW Florida area and bring this annual Twin Cities event!
