Stacey M. Allen

Stacey has dedicated her professional life to working with individuals, couples, and families who have been affected by cancer both in her therapy practice at Healthwise Behavioral Health in Maple Grove, and in group support at Gilda’s Club Twin Cities. Stacey specializes in psychosocial oncology, medical issues, chronic illness, and relationships and she is devoted to helping adults, children, teens, and families through all forms of loss, including grief. Stacey provides assistance in managing anxiety and depression through psychoeducation, mindful awareness, self-calming strategies, and exploring the dynamic of important relationships. Stacey enjoys working with couples and whole families because she believes the entire system contributes to both happiness and chaos. Stacey has been active with Gilda’s Club Twin Cities which is a non-profit, cancer support clubhouse in Minnetonka. Seven years ago, when the clubhouse opened, Stacey was hired to facilitate supports groups for adults with cancer and has been doing so ever since.

This session will explore and normalize anxiety and depression symptoms around a lung cancer diagnosis. We will discuss typical negative thought patterns and strategies for moving through these common cognitions and emotions. We will end the session with ways to focus on quality and living with cancer, as well as allowing time for questions.
