“I have never had as much food in my apartment as I do right now! I am so grateful.” -Terri A., Plymouth
A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation is pleased to announce a new program dedicated to bringing hope, food, and joy to those that need it most. Chelsi, a lung cancer survivor and longtime friend of A Breath of Hope has recently been moved into hospice. This has been an incredibly difficult time for her family and the COVID-19 health crisis is making it even more challenging. In an effort to bring a little hope, joy, and essential items to her and other lung cancer survivors during the COVID-19 crisis, A Breath of Hope is launching the Hope, Eats & Joy program in her honor.
Because those living with lung cancer are at higher risk for complications resulting from COVID-19, this program is an easy way for us to keep our survivors safe and help them during this public health emergency. A Breath of Hope volunteers will shop for and deliver groceries (up to $200 value) and a bouquet of flowers to survivors. Our goal is to keep those living with lung cancer out of the stores and protected from Coronavirus as much as possible. ABOH staff or volunteers will pick up the groceries and deliver them, all within 48 hours of the initial request.
“I received my food and my shopper got everything on my list, and more. Thank you so very much. The flowers are so pretty, too!” -Sandy J., Columbia Heights
