Additional Early Packet Pick Up

  • When: Friday August 8
  • Time: 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.

EVENT LOCATION

Lake Harriet Bandshell, 4135 W Lake Harriet Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55409

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN

6 a.m. at the VOLUNTEER TENT

PARTICIPANTS HOW TO CHECK-IN:

If you already picked up your packet or do not have any fundraising incentives (such as T-shirts and $1000 Club lanyards) to pick up you do not need to check-in

  • Time: 7:30 a.m.
  • Location: HOPE HUB TENT
  • Log into your PERSONAL FUNDRAISING PAGE
  • Be prepared to show your personal fundraising page on your mobile device with $100 or more to claim your T-shirt. $1000 or more to claim your T-shirt and $1000 Club lanyard.
  • Runners: pick up your bib and T-shirt with your registration fee + $55 donation.

PARKING

Roads and parking lots close at 7:45 a.m. to prepare for the race

  • Street parking is available around Lake Harriet Parkway and nearby neighborhoods
  • Paid parking is available at the Harriet Boat Launch Pay Lot
  • For accessible parking, use the Harriet Bandshell Pay Lot (first come basis)

SHUTTLE BUS

The shuttle is a school bus with an ABOH logo in the window. Bus is not handicap accessible. Strollers will need to be folded.

  • Shuttle parking: Barton Elementary School – 4237 Colfax Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55409
  • First pick-up at 6:55 a.m.
  • Second pick-up at Barton: Estimated at 7:20 a.m.
  • Departure from the Bandshell starts at 10:30 a.m.
  • Last shuttle departure from the Bandshell: 11:15 a.m.

Please arrive early and plan accordingly to avoid delays.

Bring your water bottle and fill up at a water station

  • Water truck near the Bandshell

NEW this year: Symbols of HOPE honoring every lung cancer journey. Stop by the HOPE HUB and customize your symbol of hope. Choose one. Choose them all. It’s your journey.

Make sure to bring them to the opening ceremony for something special!

TENTS EXPLAINED

HOPE HUB: This is your event home base. Packet pick-up, donations, info, directions. We’re here for you!

WELLNESS ZONE: Survivors and patients, this one is your lounge!
Swing by to refuel, connect, grab your commemorative lanyard, and sign up for the upcoming Midwest Lung Cancer Summit.

SNACK SPOT: Whether you’re walking, running, or rallying snacks are non-negotiable. Grab a granola bar, snag a pastry, and yes… there will be gummy bears.

PHOTOS: Grab your crew, make a memory, and let us snap a pic to remember the day! We’re printing photos on-site. You get to take it home! Use our fun props or bring your own flair.

VOLUNTEERS: This is the spot for all our incredible volunteers to check in, get info, and take a well-earned break. Your time and energy make this day possible, and we’re so grateful for you.

IN MEMORY: This is a space to remember and honor those we’ve lost to lung cancer. Take a moment to share a story, connect with others, and select a rose for the Remembrance Ceremony.

EXHIBITORS: Stop by and check out the amazing organizations and companies that stand strong with our lung cancer community. From helpful resources to cool giveaways, there’s something for everyone!

TOP TEAM FUNDRAISER VILLAGE: This exclusive spot reserved for our top 4 teams. Come celebrate your amazing achievements and connect with fellow fundraising rockstars. You earned it, enjoy every moment!

 

EVENT TIMELINE

  • 6:55 a.m. – Shuttle bus pick up begins at Barton Elementary
  • 7:30 a.m. – Event village opens; Check-in begins
  • 8 a.m. – 5K & 10K runs start on the road
  • 8 – 9 a.m. – Welcome, music, hope village activities
  • 8:30 a.m. – Survivor photo in front of the stage
  • 8:45 a.m. – Run winners announced
  • 8:50-9 a.m. – Warm up and group stretch
  • 9 a.m. – Opening ceremony – $1000 Club invited on stage
  • 9:20 a.m. – Walk kicks off
  • 10:30 a.m. – Remembrance ceremony behind the bandshell
  • 11:15 a.m. – Final shuttle bus departure

WEATHER

Whatever the forecast, our mission continues. Rain or shine, we walk, run & rally. Dress accordingly.
