A Breath of Hope is excited to return to Florida to host the 6th Annual A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk SW Florida! You won’t want to miss this sunny 5K run/walk as we raise lung cancer awareness and funds for drastically underfunded lung cancer research. Proceeds support programs for lung cancer patients in Lee County and SW Florida, as well as the U.S. translational research awards funded by A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation.
*NEW LOCATION! We are excited to host our event at Florida Gulf Coast University this year! Join us at the Student Plaza on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Enjoy the 5K run or walk with collectible t-shirts, prizes, snacks, patient resources, updates from a leading oncologist, a special ceremony to honor and remember your loved ones, and fellowship with a community that understands.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Jordan Taillon as our speaker for this year’s event. Jordan Taillon, M.D. is a Pulmonologist and Critical Care Specialist, and he will be speaking about the advancements happening in the field right now. In 2022, Palm Beach Media Group recognized Dr. Taillon as one of Southwest Florida’s top doctors from Lee Physician Group.
Dr. Taillon’s achievements reflect the high level of care LPG providers offer every day at Lee Health, your community-owned health system. It’s the excellence you expect from providers that live, work, and care for patients right here at home.

Event History
In 2007, the A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk was held for the first time in Minneapolis by a group of lung cancer patients, their family members and their nurse. They recognized the need for lung cancer awareness and patient support. We are honored to expand to the SW Florida area and bring this annual event to Lee County and SW Florida!
A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation was established in 2008. A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation’s mission is to raise lung cancer awareness, provide patient and family support and fund innovative lung cancer research. While lung cancer takes more lives than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined, it remains underfunded and out of sight. Sadly, we have stigmatized a disease that affects 1 in 14 Americans – smokers, nonsmokers, men, women, young and old. A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation believes every life is worth fighting for.
