Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in America with a five-year survival rate of 27%. Despite these harrowing facts, the survivor numbers are climbing steadily – we are making progress! Still, the average American doesn’t understand lung cancer and most cases are diagnosed late. It receives less media attention and less research funding dollars per cancer death than other cancers. We need your help to continue the work that drives survival.

A Breath of Hope invites you to join the 2024 Climb For Hope Challenge, our LCAM campaign to encourage awareness, hope, and learning during November–Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The ABOH Climb For Hope challenges you to reach new heights in your dedication to conquering lung cancer and improve your own lung function while you participate. 

How Do I Participate – View Flyer

This year ABOH is inviting motivated supporters to participate in one of two ways: as a Hope Climber or as a Hope Fundraiser. Both types of registrants will be eligible for prizes–awarded by highest points–at the end of November.

Hope Climbers accept the challenge to complete a certain number of stair steps during the month of November, and drive dollars and lung cancer awareness to their challenge. Hope Climbers earn points based on the number of steps they complete, dollars raised, others recruited, and social media posts. View Flyer

Hope Fundraisers accept the challenge to set a $ goal and raise money for the cause during the month of November. Hope Fundraisers are awarded points solely based on fundraising dollars driven into ABOH, but encouraged to drive awareness about lung cancer as part of their goal. View Flyer

How Do I Get Points/Win Prizes?

• • 1 point/every step (to be updated in the “Stair Steps” Activity section in “Manage My Page”)
  • Recruit others to join – 10 points/participant
  • Fundraise – 1 point/every dollar donated
  • Post on Your Social Media – Video or Photo – 10 points/post

What do I Win? (based on points earned through our system):

• • First place Climber: $200 gift card
  • Second place Climber: $100 gift card
  • First place Fundraiser: $250 gift card for Continental Diamond
  • Second place Fundraiser: $100 gift card
