Proceeds from the A Breath of Hope Women’s Wellness Tea support the A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation national research program and patient and family support services for families living with lung cancer.

Don’t forget your spring hat/fascinator for our contest! See you soon, Ladies!

This year’s emcee is Susie Jones, WCCO Radio Host and Lung Cancer Survivor

Susie Jones, born and raised in Southeast Minneapolis, has been with WCCO Radio since 1996. While she has held many radio roles, she is now back to her “roots” in the newsroom as a full-time reporter. She lives in St. Louis Park with her two children. In November 2021, Jones was in a car accident that resulted in a trip to urgent care. A chest x-ray was recommended due to the impact of the seat belt hitting her so hard. Unexpectedly, the x-ray revealed stage 1 lung cancer. While initially angry, Jones now describes herself as being incredibly grateful for the ability to find it at an earlier stage when it is more treatable.

Kelly A Brennan, Certified Fitness Nutritionist, Certified Child Nutrition Specialist, and Certified Health Coach

Kelly A Brennan

“At this stage of my career, I am thrilled to be doing the work I am so passionate about for my own company. Many years ago, I gravitated toward the nutrition and fitness industry because of personal tragedy and loss. Before I was 29 years old, I lost both my mother and father suddenly to heart attacks. They passed away just two years apart. The impact of those events has forever sparked a motivation in myself to live preventatively and work to educate and help others do the same. I cherish and honor the fact that another human being would come to me for support and put their trust in me. I will always continue to strive to change the landscape of what health and wellbeing look like for all individuals.”

Kelly is a Certified Fitness Nutritionist and Certified Child Nutrition Specialist through NESTA (National Endurance & Sports Trainers Association). She has appeared numerous times on Fox 9 and WCCO TV and on WCCO Radio as the nutrition expert speaking on a Holiday Survival Guide, healthy choices at Target Field and the Minnesota State Fair. Kelly’s weight management industry roles have included: Senior National Accounts Executive, Regional Director of Health Promotions, and Senior Weight Loss Consultant. She also worked independently as a personal nutrition coach for individual clients and as an independent contractor providing nutrition seminar and webinar services to businesses, such as: Thomson Reuters, Securian Financial, Travelers Insurance, KPMG, and Hennepin County. As a graduate of Winona State University, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication. Kelly brought her public speaking skills and extensive nutrition and fitness background to grade schools and high schools by working with summer athletes, teachers and students implementing nutrition and fitness classes. She was included in a feature article on fitness in the St. Paul Pioneer Press in 2006. She was also a member of the Wellness Committee for St Mark’s School for many years. Kelly has a 23 year old son and a 20 year old daughter and lives in St Paul, MN with her German Shepherd, Bo. Kelly enjoys strength training, swimming, martial arts, drawing and spending time with her family outdoors.
