Session 1: Anxiety and “Scanxiety”

10:15 – 11:05 a.m.

Waiting for results, anticipating scans, and living with uncertainty can create intense stress. This session will explore practical strategies for coping with fear and anxiety before, during, and after scans. You’ll learn techniques such as mindfulness, grounding exercises, and reframing tools that can help reduce emotional overwhelm and build resilience.

Session 2: Lunch & Patient Story

11:15 – 11:45 a.m.

During lunch, hear from a patient who will share their personal experience managing scan anxiety, fear, guilt, and emotional highs and lows. This powerful story will offer insight into how mental health support, perspective shifts, and community connection can make a meaningful difference.

Session 3: Pain Management — Conventional and Alternative Approaches

Two-Speaker Panel

Pain can impact quality of life, but there are many ways to manage it. This panel will explore both traditional medical treatments and complementary approaches. One speaker will discuss conventional pain management strategies such as medications and radiation therapy. A second speaker will address alternative and supportive options including acupuncture, meditation, and integrative techniques. Together, this session will provide a balanced understanding of available tools so you can make informed decisions in partnership with your care team.
