New Interactive Mindfulness Resources for Lung Cancer Patients and their Caregivers

A Breath of Hope is thrilled to launch an exciting new program to meet the growing needs of lung cancer patients and caregivers!

Studies show that lung cancer patients/survivors are living longer than ever before and have many unmet supportive care needs. Compared to other cancer patient groups, lung cancer patients have higher levels of anxiety and depression, yet resources are limited for this group.

When patients report higher levels of unmet needs, they also report more trouble with symptoms, more stress, and lower levels of satisfaction with health care. It is important to make sure that the lung cancer community, both those living with lung cancer and those caring for someone with lung cancer, get the help they need to achieve optimal health outcomes.

A Breath of Hope knows that fatigue and stress are common challenges for those fighting lung cancer. To address this need, we are honored to introduce the first Lung Cancer Experiential Survivorship Program – right here at ABreathofHope.org. Phase 1 opens today with mindfulness exercises to help our community find moments of peace despite the many challenges of a lung cancer diagnosis. Coming later this summer, a physical activity program focused on improving outcomes with exercises and activities that can help before and after surgery, as well as during treatment and throughout the journey.
